Auditions

Auditions for new chorale singers are held during the first two weeks of the season as well as periodically throughout the season. The ability to read music or the possession of previous choral experience is always a plus, but not a requirement. Rehearsal tracks will be made for every part of every song in our repertoire, so singers with good ears can also pick up their parts by listening.  If you are interested in creating music with other passionate singers, come join us.  Please contact Artistic Director Brigitte Bellavoine by email at bbellavoine@gmail.com to set up an appointment, or simply show up at our first rehearsal and come introduce yourself.

Commitment

The Westminster Chorale performs two major concerts per season. In addition, the Chorale sings at private, community and civic functions around the Orange County region. As a member you are expected to:

  • Commit in advance to the scheduled dates.
  • Attend rehearsals as scheduled, beginning Monday evenings on the first September after Labor Day through the last concert in May.
  • Study the repertoire independently and be prepared for each rehearsal.
  • Pledge to Donate $25 per month in Chorale dues.
  • Participate in the promotion and growth of the choir, including selling tickets, promoting concerts, supporting fund-raising activities, and performing volunteer tasks.
  • Have fun!

Rehearsal Schedule

Members of the Westminster Chorale rehearse once a week on Monday evenings. Rehearsals will take place:

At the Westminster Community Center at the northeast corner of the building
8200 Westminster Blvd. Westminster CA 92683  (Google Maps)

  • Take place from 7:00pm-9:00pm each Monday.
Be prepared by rehearsing your parts during the week and having all your music in rehearsal or concert order when appropriate.
  • Begin promptly.
Chorale members are expected to arrive on time. Rehearsals are demanding and rewarding. Break times offer members the chance to chat and get to know new singers.
